Right so here it is, my unbiased and honest review, should Nitric Oxide be branded the Nitric Oxide Scam… Or does it produce results?!

Okay let us get to it shall we…Taking into account what elements or ingredients (See Below) we know would go towards making a potentially great Nitric Oxide Supplement.  I set out to do my research both online and in the gym, asking what people thought would be the best nitric oxide supplement out there. The name that kept cropping up was Nitric Pure. Upon investigation It seemed to have what I was looking for in the supplement and seemed to be getting the nod from some guys I really respect, so off to my laptop I went to order some.

It was shipped and delivered to my door a couple of days later. I don’t mind telling you that I was a more than a little excited about getting my hand on this for two reasons. It had been a while since I had looked into a product since Creatine that had such potential within it and the guys that suggested it to me were in pretty good condition and claimed to be using Nitric Pure as their chosen Nitric Oxide Booster.

My first gym session on the stuff, now I always discount the first training session when testing any new product and I will tell you why. I do not want my excitement to drive the work out and make me think that it is the Supplement (obviously in this case Nitric Oxide) that is making me so focused. But what I do is assess how I feel after my work out. Am I as hammered as I normally am after lifting the same as last week for the same amount of reps and sets?… I have to admit I did feel it was a wasted work out. Why, because I felt like I had only used about three quarters of my energy and could have done a lot more. Was this down to the Nitric Pure?

Day two, the real test can Nitric Oxide really affect my out and out performance in the gym. I had planned the timing to use of Nitric Pure very strategically. I had been struggling to break the rut I had got into with my chest.  I hadn’t really been able to make any substantial movement up the weights in about three weeks. This would be a true test indeed.  I got my normal spotter Chris to help and told him that on the last set I wanted another 5kg (11lbs) added to each end of the bar (sorry I forgot to mention this was flat bench press), now this may not sound a lot but I have been training a long time and at my stage of development it is not be sniffed at! I squeezed out 6 reps with absolutely no assistance from Chris and he assures me he gave no help on the vital last couple of reps.  !I am impressed! I remember thinking,  but can I sustain this for a whole for out. Exercise on exercise I added roughly the same in percentage weight in the last set as I did for bench press.  I also felt a very nice tight feeling in my pecs, I had definitely got the pump and looking in the gym mirror i was pretty swollen too. All in all it was a very good workout and one I obviously still remember.

I continued to use Nitric Pure for eight weeks in total and experienced some real gains in size (which stayed I might add)  and strength. The results tapered off towards the end but this is to be expected from any product as your body get use to it. So I would recommend 8 weeks on and 2 weeks off it.

My honest conclusion on the Nitric Oxide Scam. Well I thought I would tackle this in the form of a Q and A as these were what were on my mind before taking Nitric Oxide and likely to be on yours.

Q. Are there any side effect of taking it?

A. There are some reports of upset stomachs but I had not troubles at all. More than likely people using cheap protein powders.

Q. Should I increase my protein intake?

A. depends on what you are consuming at the moment the old rule of thumb of 1-2 gram per pound of body weight still stands but increasing it wouldn’t hurt. I would recommend keeping water intake up for sure

The final question and what is probably why we are all here.

Q. Are the results as good as good as the hype I have read in all the magazines?

A. To be honest no, but let me make one thing clear. The only things that get result like that are steroids and as I said above I make some more than substantial gains that I feel are as a result of taking Nitric Pure, and on that note I do recommend that anyone that takes their training seriously should at least give a Nitric Oxide booster a try.

Nitric Oxide Scam… I would say not.

A useful tip – What workout to use with Nitric Oxide

I wanted to write this quick post in light of how Nitric Oxide Booster Supplements are designed to work. Because they are meant to flood you muscles with blood and give to the best “pump” possible I thought I briefly cover the workout technique I would personally use in conjunction with your chosen and hopefully Best Nitric Oxide supplement.

This is by far one my favourite technique and will maximise the effects of Nitric Oxide, the Drop Set Technique, so let us little look it shall we.

Okay so say I am doing seated barbell shoulder press with 84Kg (185lbs) I start with the first set of 8 reps, take 12Kg (25lbs) off and immediately do a further 8 reps. Again take off another 12Kg (25lbs) pounds and do another 8 reps.

I continue dropping the weight off with no rest in between, as you will know this is vitally important to executing this technique.

The beauty of drop sets is that it puts together a whole combination of shock factors that will work perfectly with the effects of a Nitric Oxide Booster by forcing as much blood into the muscles as possible. Also because Nitric Oxide is designed to increase the levels that you can work out at drop set seem ever more the optimal technique to use on conjunction with it.

I do however recommend that you keep to compound exercise like as the shoulder press or bench press when using the drop set technique. See the below example of a drop set.

Drop Sets

• Set 1: Take off 20 pounds and do a set of 6;
• Take off another 30 pounds and do another set of 6
• Take off another 30 pounds and do another set of 6
• Take off another 30 pounds and do another set of 6

A useful article delving into the Mechanics of Nitric Oxide

So you have obviously heard the buzz surrounding Nitric Oxide Supplements does it work or is it simply the Niric Oxide Scam? But what exactly is it meant to do, well other than build lean mass like every other “hyped” up product out there. Should it be tarnish for ever more the Nitric Oxide Scam?

Well let us quickly go over what exactly a Nitric Oxide Booster is and its effects on the body.  (sorry science bit coming up) Firstly the better Nitric Oxide (NO) Supplements use both Beta-Alanine and L-Arginine.

Firstly we need to look at L-Arginine as it is the Nitric Oxide Booster. Without it you quite simply would not produce Nitric Oxide…period. Okay with that said what are the effects of Nitric Oxide? The simplest way I can but this without going into pages and pages of text is this. It opens up vessels allowing blood to surge into your muscles (you get this in the gym “the pump”) and by doing this your muscles expand and you look more muscular. But it doesn’t stop there due to the fact that you now have more blood pumping through your muscle you are now able to get more oxygen to your muscle allowing you to train harder, lift more without the dreaded lactic acid build up.

On to Beta-Alanine, this non essential amino acid is like a double barrelled shotgun when it come to its effects on the body. Firstly it also aides in the production in Nitric Oxide via producing Carnosine so you have got two boosters on your side, secondly and equally important is the dual effect of Carnosine. Not only does it help increase Nitric Oxide Production it also helps stabilize muscular pH. During vigorous exercise hydrogen ions are released at an increased rate. This affects the pH of level within the muscle pushing it down, having an adverse outcome on the muscles ability to contract. A too lower pH also leads to your body breaking down ATP which without going in to too much more science process lactic acid doses, which everyone knows just isn’t good. Therefore keeping your muscles at the optimum pH level will also allow you to train longer and harder.

Now because Nitric Oxide supplements are designed to release there active ingredients throughout the day the post training effects are just as important to mention as the benefits in the gym. Due to the combination of the two amino acids, which are pumping more blood through the muscles and flushing it of toxins or at least keeping them at bay. Now post work out these also produce (theoretically) some notable benefits in recover. Think of it like this how do your muscles get the nutrients they need to grown and how do they get rid of the lactic acid once you have reached the limit of your workout session? Your blood right, so if your diet is up to scratch you are going to be able to get more protein to your muscles more quickly, and getting rid of all toxins and lactic acid doses.

In conclusion the effects of Nitric Oxide would be a fantastic asset to anyone who take their training seriously and have a good diet plan to boot…read my other posts to see if it work or if I brand it the Nitric Oxide Scam.
